RIP Jeff Beck!

An incredible guitarist, many whom called the father of modern electric guitar, recently passed away at the age of 78. Often a guitar player who went under the radar to the newer crop of shredders, Jeff Beck nonetheless paved the way for a newer, legato style of fretwork, influencing some notable successors vis a vis Eddie Van Halen. He also inspired many a boomer to pick a guitar and jam. His collaborations with Jan Hammer are timeless and he was always on the cutting edge of guitar technique, tones and overall sound. In my opinion, the 1977 live album with Jan is top notch, followed up by the slightly earlier studio release of Wired in 1976. As a fellow guitar player he was one of my closet favs and he will be missed greatly as he joins the great jam session in the sky. RIP Jeff!
