For those that aren’t aware, the 2018 Music Modernization Act was signed into law yesterday.  It had the unanimous support of congress along with many musicians and industry professionals.  Its immediate effects likely won’t be known for some time (or at least until that first copyright lawsuit!)  Here is the tldr from Leonard French, a copyright attorney:
