Wow, what can I say about such amazing guitar players?  Generally speaking, seeing one or the other on any given night makes us guitarists feel like they’re wearing a speedo on a cold day.  However, watching both legends share the same stage is a surreal phenomena–a beautiful dance between bliss and humility.  Both Mike & Eric were shredding it up all night, performing tunes from their new duo album, “Eclectic”.  At times the band soared above the stratosphere, unleashing merciless solo after solo (and those who know Mike Stern know what I mean).  At times the band was grooving so quiet, you could hear a pin drop.  Although Mike Stern impressed as always with his raging hybrid of classical and jazz licks, (IMO) Eric Johnson really stole the show.  It seemed only fitting that they performed one of Eric’s early hits, “Cliffs of Dover”, as the encore.  From one guitarist to another, much respect and props to two guitar virtuosos–great show!
