Denver, CO – September 24, 2024 – Luxuryville’s resident mastermind, guitarist/producer Devon Kurzweil is releasing his long awaited solo album, Music For Trees, a foray into the world of jazz-rock fusion.

CD AVAILABLE ONLINE AND AT SELECT RETAILERS NOVEMBER 22, 2024

Devon Kurzweil, one of Luxuryville’s most veteran, prolific writers is finally releasing his own album, Music For Trees.  The album is a collective of jazz-rock fusion works that delve into many sub-genres, including rock, funk, world, acoustic and even metal.  The material is thoughtful, creative and energetic; it takes the listener on a holiday travel through well-crafted melodies, comforting harmonic audio production and of course, mind bending guitar solos.  Music For Trees showcases some of Kurzweil’s best guitar playing to date, a fitting stamp for the now five decade tenured astronaut.

The idea of Music For Trees was inspired by a recent lifestyle change, moving into the country, where Kurzweil was really taken by the mighty giants of the forest.  What was first a mix of odds and ends from leftover projects over the years was retooled (with some acoustic glue) and then produced into different genres that showcase each individual work.  Kurzweil took great care in not trying to overproduce these tracks, instead letting the music speak for itself, much as the giant trees do standing in their glory.  The album is the first production from the new studio location of Luxuryville V.

Kurzweil is joined on a few tracks by up and coming vibraphonist, Derek Skala, who adds a really nice color pallet to the compositions.  Although quite a young pup, Derek’s playing is well beyond his years, employing tasty chops amongst mindful phrasing and note choices.  For guitar aficionados, Music For Trees has it all.  Kurzweil used a wide range of guitars that each bring their own unique sonic template to the album.  As such, every song has its own tonality that blends nicely into the overall mix.  A fitting work for the beautiful forest that now surrounds Kurzweil’s creative mind.

As always, Kurzweil strives to take the extra step to add originality to his works, showcasing many different moods, vibes, genres and musical tastes.  The professionalism that Kurzweil employs is evident in this production and it lifts it above the average jazz-rock fusion album.  We hope that you will join us in the celebration and release of Devon Kurzweil’s first solo album, Music For Trees.
